Two long form ambient gliders from the master of chill. Both tracks work like brother and sister versions of themselves, with slight variations on sound and composition, making for a smooth and soothing aural magic carpet ride across a minimalist musical palette of gently dancing, optimistic piano key passages anchored by slowly unfolding and stretching notes from the deeper end of the spectrum, and a consistent rhythmic tone that flashes slowly like a beam from a lighthouse across the sea.

There's a warmth to this album that I love. The melodies are beautifully performed, off the grid with lots of interesting turns, and the effect processing is masterfully dialed-in, creating this really lush and wide sound.

Dès les premières notes, on se sent bercer par l'eau. Mon âme s'est mise à flotter et à rêver...Je viens de me rappeler que j'avais fait mon projet d'expo-science en secondaire 3 sur le clonage. Pas évident de vulgariser sur un sujet que la plupart des adultes n'avaient pas vraiment entendu parler à l'époque de la fin des années 80. Maman pirate doit venir d'une autre planète pour aimer autant cette musique cosmique! ;-)
